CHESTNUT STREET CEMETARY
The Chestnut Street Cemetery is one of Florida’s oldest, dating back to the early 1800s. Many of the city’s early settlers and prominent citizens are buried here, including some who died during the yellow fever epidemic of 1841 as well as Confederate and Union veterans. Visitors can take a self-guided walking tour of the cemetery and learn about Apalachicola’s early history as well as the infamous characters who helped shape it.
The Apalachicola Historical Society hosts a popular ghost tour a few times each year.
